    Rezurrection Map Pack Announced

Fourth Black Ops map pack announced.

A fourth map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops has been announced.

The "Rezurrection" map pack has just been announced during Activision's financial call. It will release on Xbox LIVE Tuesday, August 23rd for 1200 Microsoft Point and a month later on Playstation 3 and PC.

The pack will come with a new Zombies level set on the Moon, along with the re-mastered classic Zombie maps from Call of Duty: World at War: Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese. It will also come with an enhanced Zombies soundtrack which includes three tracks never before available for purchase. To top it all off, a new Zombies Moon theme will be included.

The contents of the downloadable content will be free to you if you bought the Hardened or Prestige Edition and thus redeemed the code to download the classic Zombie maps.

We do have more details and screenshots, so stay tuned for that in a new article shortly.

    In-depth Rezurrection Info, Screens

Details and screens of the all-Zombie map pack for Black Ops.

Just after announcing the fourth map pack for Black Ops, lots of screenshots and details have been released.

The fourth and likely final map pack for the game is called "Rezurrection" and will be released on Xbox LIVE Tuesday, 23rd August. Due to the exclusivity deal with Microsoft and Activision that has existed for over a year, the map pack will release on Playstation 3 and PC in September.

Unlike previous map packs, Rezurrection will only come packed with Zombie content. The big masterpiece is the Moon level, although it is included with the four Zombie maps from World at War: Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese, all which have been re-mastered to suit Black Ops, including improved visuals and different weapons.

While the map pack will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, those who purchased the Hardened and Prestige Edition of Black Ops and redeemed the classic maps will be delighted to know that they get it for the expensive cost of: FREE! Not just the classic maps, but the whole pack as a special thank you from Activision and Treyarch. More information on how this works will be revealed closer to the release, but it will involve re-downloading the classic map pack via Download History.

The pack won't just include new and old maps, though. It will also come with a special Moon Xbox 360 Dashboard theme along with the official Zombies 20-song soundtrack which features three new tracks.

Activision's OneofSwords » received the ultimate opportunity to ask Treyarch's Jimmy Zelinski, creative lead for Zombies, a few questions about the new downloadable content for Black Ops. So let's dive in!

Of course one of the more interesting things about Zombies is the backstory and the secret Easter Eggs. According to Zelinski, this is the perfect time to re-explore the older maps to see if there are any further clues, specifically Der Riese. He then goes on to mention how how Moon will offer "clues to the past and other story elements," but that we shouldn't be "surprised to discover a few hints to what may be coming in the future."

When asked about what the Quantum Entanglement Device does, he stated that the answer can be found in the research of Einstein, Kaluza, Plancke and Klein. However, he then states that this suggests the possibilities are limitless and players should throw it out in the game and "see what it will do FOR YOU."

When asked whether there will be any new weapons or gameplay, Zelinski replied with "this game mode is all about discovery." He then expands on that by saying "whether our characters discover new weapons in the various places they visit is dependent on where they go." He also talks about the gameplay mechanics in the same way and how "location dictates how you play."

While one might think that the name of the map pack is spelt with a 'Z' instead of an 'S' to make it look fancy, Zelinski mentioned how you never know where hints and Easter Eggs may appear, before stating that it may be "a hidden truth behind everything."

Although the pack has only just been announced and looks increasingly likely to be the last one for Black Ops, many will already be speculating what the future of Zombies holds. When pressed on this, Zelinski didn't answer, although a Treyarch employee claimed that he stormed off to get a breath of fresh air...

More Moon Info & Concept Art

More details on the Black Ops Zombies Moon map and Concept Art.

More details and images of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 'Moon' Zombies map in 'Rezurrection'.

Yesterday the fourth and likely final map pack for Black Ops was announced ». Titled 'Rezurrection', the downloadable content is set to arrive on Xbox LIVE Tuesday, 23rd August and a month later on Playstation 3 and PC.

Rezurrection comes packed with four re-mastered classic zombie maps from Call of Duty: World at War, as well as an all-new map set on the Moon. Players will also receive a Moon dashboard theme and a 20-song Zombies soundtrack which features 3 songs never before available for purchase. The pack will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points, unless you bought the Hardened and Prestige Edition of Black Ops in which case you'll get it all for free.

Today we have a few more details about the new Moon Zombie level as well as some concept art. According to a new Intel post on the official Black Ops website », Moon will be "the climax to the Zombies saga, as well as the most challenging and thrilling adventure yet." It also goes on to state that you can "arm yourself with a space-age arsenal of epic proportions." Two new weapons mentioned are the Wave Gun and Quantum Entanglement Device. The Wave Gun is described as "capable of cooking zombies from the inside out" while the Quantum of Entanglement Device "taps into the theories of quantum mechanics to bless (or curse!) your battle against the undead." It's also mentioned that there will be new equipment and an all-new Perk "for thrice the zombie-slaying fun."

They have also announced that to commemorate the Xbox release of Rezurrection, they will be hosting Double XP over Labor Day weekend, which clashes with the Call of Duty XP event at the beginning of September.

Check out five new images of the Moon map below, but be aware that it is concept art and does not represent in-games visuals.
